Mushy prawns!! I used to use this place regularly, but I got a king prawn curry and chips the other night and the prawns were just globs of mush. It seemed as if they'd been dumped in the sauce and left to overcook (I shudder to think what else would cause that!). Really disappointed and I'd be reluctant to use them again.

Food very good and staff friendly and efficient. Have been twice this week and cannot find anything to complain about. This is not a buffet resturant but a place to have a relaxing meal.

This used to be one of the best chinese restaurants in Blyth. It had superb service and a high standard, however it became an all you could eat buffet. In fairness, it was still a nice place to go. I visited a few weeks ago at lunch time and found that the lunch time menu, was a bit limited and not up to the normal standard, well people can have off days! I took my family there on a Tuesday night (Sept 2011)and I can say in all honestly it was beyond terrible, the choice was poor, the food was dry and congealed. They had prawns, that looked as if they had become fossilised in there shells.Fish balls that tasted terrible and a selection of starters, that looked if they had been there most of the day. I dont know about you but I work hard for my money, and when I spend it, I like value for money, even more so, now times are hard. This place was once very good, it could be again, if they sorted them selfs out.
If you are the owner or manager of China Cook Takeaway, or even just a loyal customer, there's a lot you can do to help promote it. The easiest of these is simply providing as much information as you can about the takeaway, but we also have options available to let you verify ownership and promote China Cook.
