10/09/2010. First time eaten at the Chippery Corporation St Blackburn Time 11-40 am . busy no , quiet before dinner time rush. EATING AREA NICE AND CLEAN , Seating for at least 50/60. Ordered fish chips mushy peas and cup of tea , charged £5-50 waited 12 minutes for order to arrive . disappointed that two young ladies a toddler and baby arrived after me 11-45 and were served with there meals 4 minutes before me. Cost of £5-50 wasn't good value at all , plate was just medium size, chips not very good portion at all , mushy peas were oversized portion really making it look like very generous . was an illusion . Fish was long but very thin portion , although nicely cooked and definitely fresh . Pricing structure needs looking at . If i had have ordered any pie, chips peas gravy the tea came free , Cost £4-80 . Fish and chips and mushy peas cost £4-70 . Your tea costs extra , 80 pence extra i found out to my cost , because as stated above , my charge came to £5-50 . I noticed later while waiting for my ordered meal , most meals came with a cup of tea included in the price and all varied at around £4-80 - £5-00. This to me didn't seem fair . or good value . if you don't really fancy a fish , then go for a pie meal , and save yourself 80 p on the price of your cup of tea . Overall thoughts on the Chippery . For what you received , was overpriced .
