The best fish and chip in London? No. But there's an argument that this cash-only, greasy-cafĂ© styled dive is the best bargain fish and chips in London. Does a roaring trade at lunchtime, and definitely not a date-night venue, but the fish is fresh and delicious, the chips crisp and warming.

I walk a fair distance past a few other fish and chip restaurants to buy from here as the fish is consistently good and fresh tasting, chips excellent also.

Really surprised by the negative reviews because we have had two very good experiences at Fryers Delight. The decor is similar to that of an old diner but I found that to be fun rather than disappointing. The waitress and chefs are very friendly and engaging and they've been very accommodating to my children. I thought the fish was quite fresh, light, and tasty. Actually, a total of five people in my family have eaten there and everyone thought the food was quite good.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS; the place looks & feels old, but not in a good way. It's fairly cheap so I gave it a try as fish'n'chip outlets are not that common in the city. The chips were hard & had a synthetic oil taste, but worse than that the sausage I ordered was undercooked so I returned the lot. The older Mediterranean guy behind the counter who refused to give me a refund was rude & argumentative. Save your money & time, you're better off in McDonalds

A real blast from the past - a 1970s chip shop. Love it and a million times better than the poor touristy fish and chips on offer in many local pubs
